Panther Track

Do you ever have a recurrence of things that happened years and years ago? Olga does.

"I remember seeing the panther's eyes on the bank..."

You'll need the free Flash player to track the panther, or you can click here to trap it in a 256kbps mp3 file.

Credits: I chopped up an interview with Olga about growing up in India, and I added music and sound design. The interview audio is used under Creative Commons Sampling Plus 1.0 License from acclivity.

Ashes to Ashes (Pina Colada mix)

If Goblin King David Bowie had sipped a pina colada while recording his 1980 song Ashes to Ashes, it would perhaps have sounded like this.

Click here to download the track as a 256kbps mp3 file.

Credits: Laura Gregory - vocals; Sim Eckstein - guitar; Me - synths, spoken word, and mixing. The music is adapted from Garôta de Ipanema by Antonio Carlos Jobim.

All That She Wants

Swedish popsters Ace of Base are the subjects of the next cover by Laura Gregory, Sim Eckstein and I.

All That She Wants is notable for its chilling line, "she's the hunter - you're the fox". Be afraid.

Click here to download the song as a 256kbps mp3 file.

Laura is on vocals, while Sim composed and performed several layers of guitar melodies; I programmed the drums and mixed the song. My thanks go to Ohm Force for the inspirational Ohmicide and Predatohm audio distortion effects, which helped us turn Europop into something far more dirty...

Sylvia Plath

Laura Gregory, Sim Eckstein and I have covered a ballad by Ryan Adams titled Sylvia Plath. We've made it strange.

Click here to download the song as a 192kbps mp3 file.

I played all the instruments, and Laura is on vocals; Sim co-wrote the arrangement, and was fantastically tolerant while Laura and I turned one of his favourite songs into something quite disturbing.

Lucky Lips

Together with Laura Gregory and Sim Eckstein, I've recorded a sinister cover version of Cliff Richard's song Lucky Lips.

Click here to download the song as a 192kbps mp3 file.

Laura is on vocals, and Sim plays acoustic and electric guitars. I played the bassline and mixed the recording.

Sim also plays in the band Contemporary Hampshire, whose MySpace page can be found here.

To get a flavour of Cliff's original performance of the song, you can listen to an excerpt here via Amazon.co.uk (RealPlayer format).
